Finally finished puttin on the driver side. I did experience some minor fitment issues on the door to hinge bolts. The center bolts were not spaced perfectly centered. I know kyle is going to say his kit fit but I could only get both center bolts on after a bit of trimming with the dremel. The centerline of the two middle bolts were off by a few milimeters..but enough to need some triming. I also did have to pound in a fair amount of paneling to make the hinge sit flat under the fender. I also noted some binding in the hinge itself. I need to talk to kyle about this and make sure I installed everything correctly as I put this all together without instructions. Kyle was going to get me some instructions tonight but they never materialized.

Think we have the binding figured out. I got the fender on pretty late last night and now the upper corner of the door hits the fender when it starts to go vertical. Kyle is going to send me some pics of some modifications that need to be done to the fender to ensure clearance.

Hey,

I had a delay with the instructions, however everyone that pays for a kit will be emailed the instructions. My camera died on me today Jarid so I was Unable to finish the instructions but they will be finished as of tomorrow. Also, the upper corner of the door will not hit the fender once the inside lip of the fender has been flattened or removed as the MX-3 needs the doors to go our a decent amount horizontally before going up to clear the fender.

Thanks and I can't wait to see some pics of Jarids install. Also, thanks for keeping me up to date with the install Jarid.

Wasn`t this supposed to install plug n play without modifications?
Seems to be quite alot of work installing these.

It was supposed to need minor pushing in of the fender...or so they thought. Our car has a very very slim fender. I honestly dont think you could get any type of hinge system in there without some serious cutting of the fender. I took out a good inch all the way down the inside of the fender and it needs more....but i ran out of cutting discs for my dremel.

Don't you hate it when that happens?? LOL

Hopefully you are taking pics along the way so we can see what you are doing to modify them??

Well just finished cutting my fender out. I basically had to cut everything but the top mount out to make the hinge fit during its travel. One thing that I did notice is that the kit does not open a full 90 degrees..Actually more like 75 or so. Im goin downstairs to get pics in a minute.

This pic i had to use night vision to show the inside of the fender. you can see the top mount of the shock hitting the fender.

Image

This is from the same spot in the hinge's travel but from outside the car.

Here is also a video of me opening the door. I also noticed that the shock kinda wants to come down a bit...kinda nervous about that..I think it needs a stronger shock.
