what are waver washers?

I was told that the knocking noise in my engine was waver washers, and that it is an easy fix that I can do! Any body done this and any advice on doing this fix will help lots!

waver washers?? ive never heard of them. But depending on your engine year and model. Some have shims that go between the lifters and the cam lobes. That would make sense if thats what you were talking about.
