axle spline count question

Post by therieldeal »

i remember reading something a while ago.... that the v6 mx3's with ABS actually had a different spline count at the hub, compared to other mx3's/proteges/escorts/etc. is this true? or am i out of my mind? i'm trying to figure out what axles would allow me to run 5-lug mx6 hubs.

well if you goto an autoparts store for transmission/suspension stuff they ask you 3 main questions after make model and year...

engine, tranny and ABS or not... so i'd say yes.

well thats because the trigger ring for the ABS is mounted on the axle. doesnt necessarily mean that the spline count is different... i tried searching various auto parts sites but couldnt find any difinitive evidence about this.

They are the same spline count. I bought some ABS axles once b/c they were in stock and the nonABS ones would take a week to get. Fit my non-ABS MX just fine.
