Ticking

Ticking

there is ticking sound that happenes for a very short time when i turn my car on after being parked for awhile. doen anybody have an idea.

ya its your hla's(lifters) or friction gears it is normal on startup especially in cold weather oil is thick and doesn't circulate as well untill it warms up. same will go for any car!

oh I see your from Toronto. I suggest taking a look in the Toronto section and possibly coming to our annual meet and you can see some really nice mx3's

i wouldn't unless it continues after a few minutes and doesn't stop. just make sure you use 5w30 oil and regularly change it and check it like once a week and make sure its not low. aslo when its cold don'
t be reving the hell out of it.that will make it worse as well as many other things!

got'cha thanx for the tip...

driving in cold weather is nice, when the car is warmed up u can actually feel the difference specially when u have a cold air intake...lol
