MX-3 bumper is made of fiberglass right??

Post by Doreago »

I am looking to repair my bumper soon and I have heard from half people that bumper is not fiberglass, and other half say it is fiberglass. Is it or isn't it??

Urethane IS flexible. Much more flexible than fibreglass at least.<P><BR> <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by mitmaks:<BR><STRONG>urethane, not flexible buy crashes real well.</STRONG><HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

You should be able to use some kind of heating iron to weld the plastic together if it is torn. Like a soldering iron or something. Just don't use open flame because the flame brings out the oils in the plastic and will not weld together. I work in a plant that makes plastic pipe and that is how we weld the pipe together. Just don't ask how I know not to use an open flame! :( Superviser wasn't too happy about that little incedent! :D
