thermostat... how to remove

so, ive disconnected wires and wires, and ive disconnected the inlet pipe to get to the thermostat, and ive finally gotten to the thermostat... its sitting there waiting to come out, and i cant seems to get it out, i tried pulling on it, but it wont budge, do i just keep pulling on it to get it out or is there some special trick to it?

"Tap" it with a hammer. Rubber mallett if you have one is better. It is just calcified in there. No tricks necessary.
