Trying to set this up in May...LOOOOOOOOONG ways away. Lots of interest from other forums. Don't have the other Mazda forums set up so could someone post this link on the Protege Clubs Page. Already taken care of Beyond, Probetalk, MX-6 and ours. Here is the link:

You know ill be there i wouldnt miss it for the world. hmmmm May 12 huh so the countdown starts 178 days to have a BPT put in and tuned.

Well we can add this to our 2007 events planning but V8Less is already hosting it, aren't they? That doesn't stop us from showing up. Hopefully I have a running KLZE by then.

No James. This is the Airdrie V8-Less Meet. Has nothing to do with the one they have at Race City...and they change it to "Sport Compact Challenge". Definately add to our events but I am really pushing to get this event going in town. So far 1200 hits in the last 5 days so there is huge interest. Could get alot of interest.

There has been an overwhelming response to this meet. I have sponsors that are attending and giving prizes out (random). Check out the link at the top for info.

Just an update. I have the Airdrie Mall as the Meet location on May 12th. The Meet time is from 12:00-5:00. I'm trying to gather some money for the Liability Insurance...doh...thought I would put the word out.

The mall is going to advertise in the local paper, vendors are coming out, M&M Meat Shop is having their annaul National BBQ on the same day...walking distance from the meet, DJ, prizes, and lots of cool rides.

Not sure James but perhaps MX-West could put some money in for this and our name will go on the sponsor list. Just a thought. This is going to be a sweet car/truck/bike show.

I'll have to see but I think Liability insurance for an event this size will be around $175. I had a similar problem with Mazda in the Mountains one year at the Canmore Nordic Centre. I had to dish out my own $$$ for that since no one showed. That's why we don't have it at private or commercial facilities anymore. MX-West can probably contribute, but definitely not paying the majority of it. You might want to see what performance part vendors will want to contribute and perhaps exhibit on site.

I already thought of that and will be sending mail out today. I don't want our club to put all of it in, just a small contribution. Our club name would show on the sponsors list. I have individuals that are willing to contribute as well. I'm putting my own cash in as well as I started this whole thing off and don't want it to fail.

I have some awesome news. I received a letter from the Mall Manager and they are giving a one-time "honorarium" for $200 to cover the liability insurance.

So everything is a GO. I'll keep you posted.
