Check and fill your tranny fluid.

Either the shifter cable needs to be adjusted or its in the process of breaking. You can adjust it.. I believe there are instructions in the online shop manual on how to adjust the cable. You may also need to replace your tranny filter.

My GS AT shifter in DRIVE gear only works in between the DRIVE gear and 2ND. A budd says it may be the LINKAGE?? What might i have to do to get the right gear to its proper postion?.

There is no "Linkage" There is a shifter cable that leads from the shifter to a bracket on the transmission itself. And yes it can be adjusted.
