vacuum line routing

Post by all8up »

I have been working like crazy on my turbo setup and I am hoping to fire this beast up maybe as soon as tomorrow... I was wondering about the turbo vacuum lines. I hooked the wastegate pod line to the outlet on the cold side of the turbo, and the BOV vac line to the intake vacuum. Is this correct? this is for a vj11 turbo on a 1.6 DOHC

It is for low boost  To get a little more boost you can route the wastegate vac line up to the intake manifold plenum. The pressure drop through your charge side will allow a higher compressor outlet pressure. You could also add a manual boost pressure regulator as well. The BLOV vac line needs to be on the intake manifold plenum as well for optimal performance.

The below site sells a very nice manual boost controller. They were I believe around $70 and I wouldn't recommend pushing your turbo higher than 16psi.

Also add a bottle of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer to your engine oil. For the trans use Lucas 80W90 Heavy Duty Trans Fluid w/ 1 bottle of Lucas Trans Fix. So far my Pro-LX trans has taken 400+WHP for about 13,000 miles now and this mix works better than anything else I've ever tried in any transmission!
