Will an MX-6 2.5L clutch fit on an MX-3 ZE?

Post by cooper_9 »

I'm about to buy a clutch and i can get a good deal on a used one from an mx-6 2.5L, will the mx-6 2.5L clutch fit? I did a quick search and saw maybe one or two people say that it will but i just want to be sure. if it wont i'll just go with a probe one. thanks. btw the engine i will be putting in along with the clutch is the 2.5L klze.

wich clutch would be the "best" for the K8?
Not OEM, but performance.
And would it be cheaper to get one for the 2.5 vs the 1.8?

I'm using an Mx-6 clutch, the 2.5 and 1.8 clutches are the same price, so might as well get te one for the 2.5

Some of the BP Protege guys use the 2.5 clutch as it has a bit more surface area, so that may be the case between the K8 and KL clutches too.

G series is G series :)

no the clutch sizes for the mx-6, probe and mx-3 v6 are the same size.
225mm
I still cant find anywhere in the shop manual where it says there should be a 1in hole in the side of the block. (Blown K8) #6 rod thrown through block.

i think the best clutch for the k8 would be the stock k8 clutch. its probably a bit lighter than the 2.5 clutch which would help throttle response

Well, the rest of my car is not stock, so when I`m replacing the clutch, I want to get something that`ll be ready for more power down the line.
Stock clutch here in Norway is more expensive than a ACT clutch anyway.
