Hey there is 4 basic struts that you can go with.
1. Stock
2. KYB - OEM replacement, abit better
3. Tokico HP - Abit higher performance
4. ZX2 Escort struts - usually comes as a packeage with springs
As for coilovers or drop springs. There is only one real coilover made and that is a sleeve type coilover so you will still need struts, these are called Ground Control's, they utilize a Eibach spring and can drop anwhere from 1"-3" (correct me if I am wrong but I know it is in that range)
Drop springs are much cheaper and if you are looking for nominal performance and some ride comfort plus a decent drop then these are the best option, they range from a 1.2" to a 1.8" drop usually and will settle just abit lower then that (usually .2" more) There are a few brands that are good like B&G, Apex, Eibach, Intrax, Suspension Techniques etc, do a search in this forum, there is lots of info on what is available inculding the ZX2 combonation.

Solo pretty much summed it up. A search will yield reviews and such on each brand of spring and strut. Don't foget to get new upper strut mounts, bump stops and thrust bearings to go along with your new suspension.

So it's clear, the ZX2 struts you'd want are the ZX2 S/R struts, Not the regular ZX2 struts.
I have never seen them packaged with springs...they run about $150-160 for all 4.
IMHO, clearly the best choice from solo_ryders list.
