MX3 RPMS went from 2700 to 0 while driving...confused!!!!!!!

No thats a classic distributor failure. Tell me how a tach has anything to do with your fuel pump?
94 Mazda MX3 GS - 395 whp 397 ft lbs untuned on pump gas and stock KLDE 15 psi boost. now running 16 psi and E85.. numbers=? 425ish whp

it could be a fuel syetm problem baught I doubt it. Could be a bad fuel filter or dirty injectors. You could try a new filter and some injector/fuel system cleaner. A fuel pump will usually work or it doesn't simple as that.

I go with faulty distgributor. The tach signal comes from the DISTY. When i was having hei issues it did this exact issues,. even if it was injectors the tach would NOT go up and down that FAST.. do the hei mod .. you wont regret it. saves you around 275 dllrs.

HEI mod is hack if you're selling the car at some point.... I'd buy a used disty myself (oh wait, that's what I did) :) What if you had problems with a car, and come to find out the previous owner hacked up the wiring to cheap out on buying a new part? Wouldnt you be pissed? I HAVE seen distributors go bad where it's the coil and/or hall sensor, so the HEI doesnt rule out these and they can still go bad in the future

I bought a new one... $225.. but thats for a 94. THe 94's are $350+ now

Just a thought. if the Crank Position Sensor(s) go, it would be detected by the ECU. This would indicate to the ECU that the engine is no longer turning over and will therefore shutdown the flow of fuel from the injectors - immediately. There's a crank position sensor inside the disty and one located near the coolant filler neck beside the cam belt cover. Like I said, just thinking out loud FWIW.

well of course if YOU DO sell the car its nice to tell the buyer what you did. This assures that buyer that the distributor wont go out as easy as before.

if ur car turn off while u where driving its ur disty forsure not enough spark... that wat happen 2 my 6 while going 2 vegas.... disty no matter wat...

what if you had a suvere vacume leak? like one that you might not notice thats after the VAF.
-KL31 stock internals with curved neck intake manifold and KL36 ecu
-Turbo running 7.5psi
-FMI 3"x12"x32" all alluminum and welded, have a 7.5 PSI spring she just creeps on cold nights
-ACT 6puck sprung/96 probe tranny
-Short shifter
-HEI and MSD 6al (makes a big difference when you spend the 65$ ont he right spark plugs)
-KYB GR-2 struts with H & R springs
-Megan racing seats
-Personal 280mm stearing wheel
-Familia rear strut tower bar

Well i drove without a knock sensor for a while.. all it does is retard the timing and car goes into limp mode. Car will still run fine without it just horrible gas mileage.

reallyit made my car die when it had a poor connection, also wouldnt start until it was connected... maybe my timing was/is off also.

go to pepboys with ur disty n let them see if ur disty is fucked up.... if it is than thats the problem...
