Tunes you jumped the gun on me
I was gonna ask if one of your valve retainers broke. happens to alot of people with ZEs over-reving. When we built my ZE, we used DE retainers because they are alot thicker...

I was close to getting a timing belt right now.
but if it's non-interference then I'll wait till it breaks.
Mine better not do anomalies.
($550 to replace timing belt and water pump at Progressive Motorsports)
what would be the logic behind waiting until it snaps....
have to pay for a tow job.. could be when ur going to work or need to be somewhere on time.... never fun... leaves u without a car until u can get the parts ordered if need be and get it into the mechanic... also if ur at high rpms may possibly damage ur vehicle???

"my mechanic showed me in their big manual of all timing-belt specifications for all sorts of different cars. For the Mazda MX-3, it clearly stated in a paragraph that the 1.8L V6 is an interference engine."
its a missprint. This was disscussed years ago. the book your mechanic is looking at is wrong.

Having been inside the K8 and the B6DE engines personally.. I will reitterate.. they are both Non Interference engines. As are all unmodded KL series engines.
