Replacing crank position sensor

Post by lennyseleven »

I believe I need to replace the crank pos sensor on my 93 1.6, if I read the check engine code correctly. It seems to be causing a misfire feeling and after the car warms up it almost wants to stall when coming to a stop. I was wondering if someone could point me towards some guidance on replacing this?

Also, can the seat belt warning chime be removed or the sensor disabled? Mine just keeps going on all the time.

thanks
Nick

When I checked the code, it flashed three times quickly, meaning code number 3 correct? But when checking the code book it lists crank position sensor, but not for a 93 1.6. Any help?

thanks

i do believe it's inside....the hall effect/ignitor....
i think you will have to replace the complete unit(i don't think you can get parts for it)
you said it flashed 3 times quickly?????
3 slow is code #3
