a Civic Bodykit on the Precidia?
a Civic Bodykit on the Precidia?
i'm frustrated that there are no polyurethane bodykits for the MX3
EXTREMELY frustrated
i came across one of you talking about how someone fit on a civic bodykit onto it though
is this possible? is the civic (one of the generations, i mean) of similar bodyform to the Precidia?
many have put civic projectors on their mx3s, but hasn't anyone thought of putting on a civic aftermarket front bumper to accomodate that headlight's shape, and also a civic hood? ergo, no gaps . . .

it's just that everyone seems to say fiberglass is crap.
"don't get fiberglass, get polyurethane"
"fiberglass kits come with bubbles in them and we have to sand them down"
"paint on fiberglass has a tendency to crack"
"fiberglass is so easy to break and it's hard to repair"
there are polyurethane bodykits for many cars, even the honda civic, but none for the MX3

Honestly...if you get QUALITY fiberglass parts then you don't have all those problems. And Eurethane is wayy harder to paint then fiberglass, so if Eurethane isn't done well it will just peel off. The only real advantage over fiberglass that Eurethane has is it's flexible...but the problem is usually getting the paint to be flexible with it (hence cracks and major peeling if it's not.) I'd say go with fiberglass. Cheaper and easier to work with by far.

What is there to figure out really? It is all custom molded. Looks to be a lexus front possibly? People do it for car shows and personal reasons I guess. You get alot of points for conversions of all sorts at shows.

You cannot use a Civic front end or rear end or sides. They will all fit, but by cutting and piecing them back together. You cannot cut and piece urethane.

actually, on his carDomain page, Cris Barros specifically points out that that is not his MX-3. It's his friend's.

and thank you Pat. I will stop about the Civic bodykits. I think best way to go is Aerogear's flexible fibreglass K-Max bodykit. It's advertised on Nopi, who I called, who forwarded me to their Canadian distributor "Concepts on Wheels".
