the new Super Street mag has a Toyota Corolla AE86 from the eighties that has received a four liter Lexus V8 engine and transmission transplant. The swappers claim it to have taken $8000 to pull off. and should i mention: it has a steering wheel from a Toyota Paseo!

Another recent magazine features a Mazda RX-7 with a Corvette V8 in it.

(this is nothing but a point of interest and perhaps inspiration. Enjoy!)

Ford has two other V6 engines:
2.5L @ 205hp, engined called SGA, and can be found in Ford Mondeo ST200.
3.0L @ 226hp, can be found in Ford Mondeo ST220.

They also have 2.5L @ 170, engine called SEA. That must be the same as "our" KL-DE.

The question is if the SGA will fit into a MX-3.

Found a guy in the US with a guide to making a Lotus 7 type car with a Miata as a donor.

This is the route pretty much everyone in the UK takes if they want performance cheap.

You can get them down to 450 kg, which means a 150bhp bike engine gives 300/bhp per ton : Supercar humbling territory and 12 second quater miles.

For performance at the next level, A 15,000 pound holeshot 300bhp Turbo bike engine gives 600/bhp per tonne.

Or you can give them twin bike engines for 4wd and set the 0-60 record.

Cheapest kit in the UK is a Robin, which is heavier but can be bought as a full kit including donor sierra for 3000 pounds.

Sorry to keep trying to take this topic left field.

Back on the FWD front, someone in the UK has made a 800bhp FWD Rover using the Rover T16 engine and is running 10.x quater miles. The total cost was 50,000 pounds.

Will the turbo/AWD system from one of these fit ? I have contacts in Japan...might be able to find a crashed one.

....13B-FWD-MX-3.... you'll have more power then you can handle...

Filling the front lower-Crossmember with LEAD won't give you enough weight to stop your 18's with 40series from spinning @ 10,000 rpm in 3rd gear...

Then you could still boost it :D..

Motor anywhere from 300-1200bux
Custom motor mounts 500
Custom Trans Adapter plate - 300-800
Custom RX crank to MX clutch Flywheel - 400-600
ECU - 500

EST. Total 2600 CAD

365 sets of Tires - too much :D

if u have money y not try out a 3.0l out of the mazda6 or the 2.3 turbo mazdaspeed6. honda guys have realized their motors are torqueless and hence the ls vtec and b20 block b16 head to try to find ways to extract more horsepower. these being better than a type R swap for over all horsepower, torque. but even with the ls block(1.8l non vtec integra) and a b16 head you need to ebuild the bottom end so it can handle 8500-9000, and the b20 block(crv) and b16 head is a try for more torque but still requires a rebuild as it is not balanced to handle those rpms. a klde block, heads, ze cams, intake manifold, youd eat either and still get to play in the higher rpms but with a sexy sound not raspy. throw a turbo on and ull make more horsepower and torque as theres no replacement for displacement, other than forced induction which is y hondas suck ballz. if us mazda guys were willing to mount the engines on a angle
(h22 into a civic) change motor mounts and wiring harness for a engine swap we would have bigger better motors than already but whats better than a bolt in klze that costs a grand and will take a 5000$ type R? and even if u build a fast honda you still have to deal with no respect and comments like winning a race in a honda is like winning the special olympics even if u win your still retarded. ask your buddies where they can get a b16 installed with mods to equal the horsepower torque of klde for under 2000. where as we can get the motor for a case of beer usually if u find the right donor car. the nicest integra around me has got rice as his plate tell u something about hondas....lol now a sr20, or rb26 is a different story but thats not honda.

the only honda to take the mx3 would be the CRX with the k24 swap, hondata tune, intake headers exhaust, and still the same amount of money into a mx and it would be quicker
