Sticky EGR Valve
Sticky EGR Valve
Check engine light on. Diagnosed EGR valve. Mechanic said the computer was able to manipulate it and it was ok, probably just sticking. CEL back on again. If it was just sticking, will it be ok to drive it? Will it unstick itself? Will any harm be done if I just keep driving it? ![Question :?:](./images/smilies/icon_question.gif)

Just take the EGR off and clean it with carb cleaner and put it back with new gaskets. Should work.

Also check the holes it attaches to as well. Be sure they are not clogged with carbon as of this is the more common problem than the valve itself sticking open.
