Just get some Castrol GTX. Synthetic can cause problems with older engines. I am warning you that you might see some leaking by the gaskets if you put synthetic in.

oh man i love castrol GTX!

ok here is what i do...

i put in castrol GTX and for ever 3 bottles i put in i put one of castrol syntec. its a nice blend. the only problems i have with it is that the oil starts turning black pretty early, but its still good for 3000 miles

Man...now I am confused, I have a 94 1.6 DOHC does that mean I need the 95-98 bp..right? What do you mean by harder to wire? If I get the ecu from the donor protege would I avoid that problem?

MechaMan dood, all i need for the swap then is the 95 bp engine, ecu and tranny (I know my tranny will bolt up but I want the stronger protege)what about the drive shafts? Do i need the protege ones? Or do I keep my own. Thanks man!
