How fast are these things compared to ZE's?, do we require a new ECU to put them in? what's a good price for one? Are they hard to find in Ontario? Thanks

Not as fast and yes you need the ecu for it to run proper

the problem with a de is that its getting hard to find one with low milage.

there are still lots of ze's around with under 60k on them.

Average DE is slower the the ZE. ZE is 190+ hp...DE is 160+hp. (crank of course. But they have the same TQ. People say the motors feel bout the same till the higher RPM's where the de tens to fall short.

It's kinda on the high side. I'd only buy it if it tested over 190 PSI compression on all 6 cylinders.

I think that is a fair price. That is a pretty low mileage. Pretty comparable to what i have found when looking. Just an FYI, if you are looking for a project, i peiced together a klde this past winter for 200 bucks off probetalk, and i am currently rebuilding the motor. If a person wanted to use stock everything, a klde rebuild can be done for about 1000 bucks. The same cost as a klze and you have the peice of mind of knowing exactly what you have. Just some food for thought.

one main reason why the de can hang with the ze is atmospheric pressure, ever notice how all the ze's run ritch in north america?

a ze ecu is tuned for the atmospheric pressure of china and japan. where they came from. a de ecu is tuned for around here.

just my opinion.

sorry, i'm quite new to this engine knowledge.

so KL-DE is the motor from ford prode? (US version?)

and KL-ZE is the JDM with 200hp?

what is the stock V6 1.8 called? :)

Is there alot of benefits after you swaped a V6 2.5 with 200hp? Another 70hp extra instantly yes, but can it run less than 15 secs in the quarter mile? How about the gas mileage wise? Does the V6 2.5 has the same weight as V6 1.8? Thanks.

Do a search and you will find an answer to all your questions. They are commonly asked and very easily answered through the search function.

Nate,
why don't you just reply me and tell me all ? I'm lazy.

I'm just not at here too often. That means my GS has no a lot of problems haha.

I guess if I spend more times here I will gradually know more. I have no recent plan to swap any engine since my K8 is only 100K plus and working pretty strong. I'm looking forward to seafoaming my K8 on the next oil change...
