autozam oil change

Post by sloggy »

Hi chaps, I've been trying to do an oil change on my 1.5 mx-3 import and am a bit confused, the oil sump is like none I've seen and there are 3 different drain plugs. the one on the right of the car is to drain the engine oil, but what are the other 2 for and how does one replace the fluid? Any help is very welcome, the car is an auto.

The two bolts you see other than the drain plug should be the bolts that mount the oil pan to the car. You crank you car for about 5-10 minutes
to warm the fluid and make it runny. After you pull it onto ramps turn off engine.
You take off the oil filler cap on the valve cover.
Make sure you have the car on ramps and chocked in the back so it dosen't roll. (PARKING BRAKE ON)
You remove the drain plug and let it drain into empty container.
THen replace the drain plug. (WHen removing drain plug make sure you
get the washer thats connected or you will go fishing in old oil for it.
Put 3.5 quarts of oil (or whatever gets you to the full mark)
Do not overfill it. Replace oil cap. (While the oil is drained replace oil filter)
Hope this helps.
