nice car.. Kewl that your going to Re-Work the USDM V6 aswell..

Yeh the red color did suck.. i think that the manufacturer of the paint didn't intend it to last 10-20 years...

about 70% of White, Black and Red cars from mid 90's and earlier are sprayed without clearcoat .....at work we call them SINGLE BANG or QUICKIE :)

so when i get my car repainted, it wont fade again if i get a clearcoat?

new quality paint wouldn't fade nearly as fast in the first place.. but it should last MANY MANY years longer with it and many more after that because of the advances in paint in general...

I didnt take a picture of it, but my front bumper and left fender were replaced after a crash about 2 years ago. The difference between my old faded paint and the new stuff is ridiculous.

anything will fade over a period of time ...but the clear coat and periodic waxing will help better protect it from the sun's rays

Nice car. Even with faded paint it looks pretty good.
