sounds like I missed a good meet and cruise. Did you guys have a bbq at the meet this year? 15 cars is down from last year eh. I hope to make it next year for sure if you guys do it again. I was wondering if anyone has ever taken their mx up north for a road trip. I'm about 150 kms north of North Bay. Just curious.

Kind of sad to see that only 15 cars showed up, in the past years we had as many as 30+ MX-3's show up. Unfortunately it seems that the MX-3 is becoming a dying breed.

Would like to see some pictures from the meet though.

i dont think its a dying breed, it just wasnt advertised the same.... last year there was a nice banner which sat on the top for months, only people that really saw the annual meet was the people in toronto mx-3 forum.....

I am not being a hater but Forum moderators and owners didnt even show interest in helping to make this event a huge one, it was all up to the members!

Well ... the best part of Saturday was the cruise ... I love twisty roads but wished there were just a little bit more .... and go a little bit faster

It was nice going through towns I have heard of but never seen. Port Dalhousie I really liked .. and the food was good there.

I enjoyed seeing all of you ... Melissa, Mike and whomever else that helped .. thanks for arranging everything.

When is the next meet to go to???? In 2 weeks .. hmm

I will put on some pics tonight or tomorrow .. turned out pretty good too. Oh ya pics of the winners too!!! Congrats!

Only 2 moderators I know of that are in Ontario is Andrew and myself. Andrew no longer owns an MX3 and I did my long distance thing by organizing the Eastern Ontario cruise to the event that numbered nearly half of the participants. If that wasn't enough, if it wasn't for me being the only one that made hard copies of the afternoon cruise route, the cruise would not have happened at all. Not one person stood up to meet the challenge, lead the way (much less new the way) or take on the responsibility. I personally sought out a driver/passenger combo that could lead the way and use my maps to navigate the cruise. I had to be proactive and separate those that had FRS radios amongst the pack of cars for the cruise. Ya, I'd say I did a fair share towards the event. How about yourself? What was your contribution? Not to pick or anything, but lets face it. We got Melissa that lives 30 minutes away from Toronto doing a big part for the whole event and myself over 2 hours away. It don't say much for those living close by doers it? Jeff, does his part by providing and maintaining a platform from which we can use. This event is always about member participation. If we want to look at numbers, I think there was a total of 3 or 4 max participants from the GTA area. 3 or 4 people from all of the registered MX'rs from the GTA area. The title, Toronto MX3 Club is really a missnomer. I don't believe we have anyone from the GTA proper that organizes or takes a controlling interest in any of the Clubs activities. Perhaps re-naming it the "Ontario MX3 Club" would be more applicable. If the majority of events are to be held in and about the Toronto area simply because it's central to most members, than it's incumbant on those in that general vicinity to be a little more pro-active in creating, coordinating, overseeing and organizing different meet events. In all honesty, it seems apparent at this stage or this past event that although the MX3 may not actually be a dying breed as Andrew puts it, it is however on the precipice of falling flat on it's face. Less than 40% turn-out from last years event should be the writing on the wall for all of us to take notice of. What ever we're doing is not working. To perpetuate what has happened in the past hoping for similar results is stale and non-progressive thinking and eventually leads to the results that we experienced this past weekend - a poor turn-out. Those of us that attended enjoyed ourselves, but there was still something lacking in the whole affair, but that's for another thread and another time. I'm not sure what interest you were looking for from the Owners/moderators Krish and perhaps you could be more specific in that regards. Until there's an individual(s) that is able to give the time and energy necessary to maintain a healthy club environment, we will endure similar situations as the MMM. Those that live in and about the GTA would carry the advantage of living within a short distance of any meeting spot and could maintain the continuity needed to keep the club vibrant and fresh. Do you know anyone who is willing to step up to the plate on this? BTW, what happened to the BBQ that was supposed to happen? Or did I miss the thread/post that said that part was cancelled ... not sure on that one. Hope there's a few keen individuals willing to step up to the plate soon.

Look this meet came and went, it was successful, no need to point fingers at me....

I can't say I participated in orginization at all in this meet, and I am not looking for any rewards for my participation, but for a forum moderator to say we are a dying bread, I had to say at least two words!

I did make a couple calls for participants, for one, UR BEST ENGINE wouldnt have been there if I didnt call him...

anything I do for this club is behind the scenes because I try to get the ppl who may not be able to have access to the PC...

Most meets this year were posted by myself, not saying it was a huge turnont for any of mine but I do try my best to get people out.

Like I said, I am not looking for praise... I am trying to keep the club together

that was in another thread saying there will be no bbq and that there will be pizza instead to keep things simpler this year..[/quote]

there was more then 6 mx-3's but yes, we had made a wrong turn (my fault, i was leading) and did a uie to get going the right direction, witch put me at the end , or near the end.

once we got down the hill i retook the lead and got us lost again. WOOO. ok next time, im prerunning the route.

I think the meet was probably only a flop, as Krish said, just lack of advertisement, which was probably the side effect of up-to-the-last minute planing. Obviously for those who attended had alot of fun, so what transpired was on the right path. It seems that the Saturday event was a bad idea, the was, not just one, but a few wedding that day, and a car show sometime in London. As well, I wasn't there for being out of the country, and for what i read MrSpanky couldn't make it because of steering issues, Autozammx3's car wasn't ready and had to cancel last minute. If things would of went better in that aspect, the attendance wouldn't of been bad at all. But we've definitely learned what's we've done right and what we've done wrong, and next year should defininitely be better, we just need to advertise, and set everthing in stone early.

As for the cruise, it was my absolute intention to do a personal dry run, but it got to the point where I couldn't afford to, and after not being in the area. I did suggest that someone do it a few times, but I guess it wasn't done, and I am kinda disapointed that the maps i provided wheren't really taken advantage of, but it doesn't really help that most weren't from the area.

i am from the area, and my dad was riding shotgun so we took the lead and the maps... unfortunatly my dad is blind outta one eye and cant see outta the other, but we quickly found our errors and got back on track.

very nice route tho, there was only 1 problem with the maps, it showed that ridge road kept going, where it actually ended at mountain road in grimsby.

but some quick thinking and a glimpse at the map and our local knowledge got us back where we needed to go, down the mountain into downtown grimsby, and then down mainstreet witch turns into king street, wich yada yada yada.

Next time we gotta be a little more planed, im going to start planing a fall meet as soon as im done exams and such, hopefully this one will be better.
