ok i don't know if it's possiable but is there a way to by-pass the o2 sensor and trick the ecu to seeing the proper voltage./
i belive that my o2 sensor is going but i don't have the cash to replace it (in canada it's at cheapest $85 plus tax)
now other option if i pull it out is it possiable to clean it and still have it work ???
sorry about all the questions but i'm used to working on carburated engines i hate all this obd crap

o2 sensor by-pass

Bypassing the O2 sensor is not good for the engine (or the mileage)- The ECU is constantly making adjustments based on the O2 values. There is no way to "guess" the O2 values - if there was a way then mazda engineers would have chucked the O2 sensors long time ago.
Cleaning the sensor might be possible - but will greatly compromise the sensing element - which is probably already shot.
You can get generic O2 sensors for something like $15 - only catch is it will require some wire cutting and splicing.

up here in the north they want at least $85 for the generic o2 sensors (and thats with a mechanics discount ) i have no idea why they are so expensive up here.
if i were to clean it what would be the best way to a) get it cleaner than it is now and b) not compermise the sensor too much ???
