Here is my car, along with a few general questions...

Post by 2.5mazda »

This is my daily driver. Soome people wanted pics, I fugured I would just post it up. I need to thank Midwest Imports for helping with the Motor Swap, http://www.mx-3.com for providing me with much needed info and help, thanks guys.

Here are the specs so far:

1992 Mazda MX-3 GS. It has full stainless Brullen exhaust, stainless headers, PRM intake, NX dry nitrous kit, stage 3 ACT clutch, Tokico Blue struts, Eigbach ground control coilovers/ springs, and a Corksport strut tower bar, ICW Odessa 16 by 7 rims with Riken Raptor 205/50/16 tires.

This is all bolted to the aftermarket 2.5 Probe GT motor which I swapped in. A KLZE will be taking this old dogs place in a couple months. What I have now is alot faster than the stock 1.8, but I want a bit more.

Ok, on to the pictures:

My question is, where can I get replacement weather stripping?

And secondly, I havnt seen any other MX-3 GS cars with a red stitched black leather interior. It appears to be factory. Is this common in the GS models?

Let me know what you guys think! I didnt see an actual post your ride forum, so I hope this is ok. thanks in advance!

I thought so.... It may be one of the very first ones or somthing. It all matches so I know it wasnt swapped in.

How rare are these? It is in perfect shape, only one scuff mark 3 inches tall on passenger seat side.

So it may not even be a GS at all? It came with the 1.8......

The are all black except for the outer stitching that flows along the outside of the seat on the edges, that is red. I dont think they are aftermarket, because someone would have had to make an entire aftermarket interior too... unless someone already does that.

What do you guys think of it overall?

What should I do next, paint job, or KLZE swap? The paint is a little faded here and there, and I want more of a show quality finish, 4 coats of red, 6 coats of clear with a nice cut and buff at the end.

What would you guys do? thanks for all the help!

Do the engine swap, so you don't screw up any of your new paint.

I have seats that have match the stock pattern but in two tone Green and black. A good shop can easily take apart cloths seats and make them identical in either vinyl or leather. They would use the stock seat material as a template.

If you are wondering, I have 93 Front seats in my MX since they are a much better seat the 94 ones...

NO issues, I have had them before with no problems also. I love these struts!
I have heard of the white five way adjustables blowing out if you have the shock set at its stiffest and the car lowered too much...

My ground controls are maxxed out right now, just where I like it though. If it isnt in the weeds, whats the point right?
