Clutch dieing?

Post by corbanbrook »

Well after road trip to montreal noticed the clutch starting to slip.

Now when i drive in first or 2nd gear the car sounds like a lawn mower... is this a symptom of bad clutch? only sounds bad when in gear.

Yeah that's happening to my car as well. I'd also like to know if it's a bad clutch.

If when driving in say, second gear, with the clutch fully engaged (all the way out) you put your foot to the floor and the rpms go up but the car dosent go faster.. Then your clutch is fried. Could be a bad clutch or could be a oil seal gone causing oil to leaking down on your clutch. That ruins it by the way.. so youll need a new one either way.

Check your fluid. Make sure it's at the top and if you see it slowly going down then you have a leak. Depending on how hard you drive the car and what not it could be simply your clutch will go out. It's unavoidable. (sp)
