put the disty in place and put the bolt on snug, not torque as you will have to rotate the disty
get into diagnostic mode by jumping ten and gnd in the diag box.
Grab a timing light.
put it on the cylinder #1 spark plus wire and point the light at the crank pulley.
start the car and let it idle till warm
Do that in a dark place so you can clearly see the mark on the pulley
then rotate the disty till the mark flashes at 10degre BTDC (the degree are on the timing belt cover)
Good luck

Thanks for that. So do I need to remove the timing belt cover? Also what is BTDC? How much are timing lights?babyblueMX3 wrote:put the disty in place and put the bolt on snug, not torque as you will have to rotate the disty

No need to remove the belt cover.
Timing light runs ~$20-30
BTDC = Before Top Dead Center. It means the number of degrees that you are adjusting the spark timing to fire before the #1 piston stroke reaches the top dead center of its compression stroke. More info here with a clear animation of it. g/l
