kl-de swap done!!!!!!!!!

Post by fieromx3 »

me and my dad finished my kl-de engine swap! first turn of the key it started! the car is now so much faster my dad floored it at like 40 kmh and spun the tires even and seemed to get some torque steer! i know u guys have faster cars with ur mtx ze and all but i was seriously impressed with this DE on my atx it picked up speed so much faster but the car sounds like crap imo but it runs good and strong though! but i do have a problem with my tranny which i am posting in the atx forum so plz check it out and hopefully help!

lol yea he always calls my car a s--- box but with the new engine he was like a kid in a candy store and he said ''this cars got some pep now'' he kinda kept it quiet i guess he couldnt admit these got potential (hes a hardcore v8 fan) the swap alone was worth it after i seen his expression!!

it was a great feelin especially since my dad helped me i dunno i never really spend ''quality'' time with him but it was 3 days with him and i enjoyed that. and i really wanna overbored TB but i might turbo her this summer with my MSnS at about 7psi unless i get my other de in her with forged internals then id probly do like 15 psi it all depends

Waste of $$$. Why would you need a TB bigger than Mustang GT's had for almost a decade (60mm)?? Spend the dough on ZE cams or something.

there isnt any point in getting ze cams my other DE is on stands that im buildin in which im gonna convert to solid lifters with colt cams cams. i was on PT and a 5mm overbore on ther TB's gave them an average of 5 hp and right now im using the underbored k8 TB. the bigger TB should give better and crisper throttle response and a lil extra power through out the rpm range im going to do it anyway for my full race rebuild so why not? its interchangeable to my other engine.......but my goals now is mtx conversion and a turbo......and then once thats not enough power i will swap in my other de

when the build engine will be in ? THAT will be fun 8)

and as far as OB TB, I did felt a difference with mine (67mm). It help throttle response too. BUT it all depends and the price you'll pay. If you get a good deal then yes jump on it, but if you pay full price, then it's not worth the price.

thx steve yea i go on probe talk alot and i see OB TB's gp for like 100 bucks sometimes less all the time i had a chance to get a 67mm for 50 bucks but i had bought somethin else so i couldnt do it :( yea the other engine should be VERY much fun i cant wait till i do that but all this extra time gives me the needed time to do everything properly, not cheap out and when i swap it in i will have all that power at once!

yea i definately noticed a difference with my tb (65mm) and its hard to beat it for $100 or used from one of the guys on probetalk. there are not many other mods for 100 that make that big of a difference except guting a car n thats just free.
