crankshaft sensor

Post by m92_MX3 »

well i took my car into the shop (1992 1.6L SOHC) and i found that i had a problem with my distributer we looked further into that and it is the crankshaft sensor ( its what the plug is on top of the disty ) so we tried to get just the sensor because thats all i need and i cant get a replacement so i have to go used and i dont want to have to buy a whole distributer because thats just a pain so now for my question what cars came with that same motor the 1.6L SOHC in the 92 MX-3 ?

Thanks

First of all the 4 bangers don't have a crankshaft sensor, they have a cam shaft sensor. It reads the cam position through the disty. -how could it read the crank through the disty which is not connected to the crank? right  -
Anyway, the motors can be found in older Protoges, older Ford Escorts, and some KIA I believe.
