The meter says 124,000 KM in my car. But the dealer replaced the old motor with a newer one that only has 36,000 KM on it.
I dont know if they were being honest i never saw the receipt for the engine. But the mechanic looked it up in the computer for me, and he said thats what there computer said.
I relize that my car doesnt apply to your topic since i bought the car last year. But the engine is still low!

Ever notice anyone driving slower than you is an idiot and anyone driving faster than you is a maniac?

My daughter, Lee, and I bought her 95 RS in January 2005 for $100.00 us. It only had 75k on it but would not move. The owner thought the trans was shot and it had other issues as well so we got it extremely cheap. After putting the new clutch in it, less a new throw out bearing {which was a mistake because we have bearing noice when out of gear}, we replaced all the brakes, put on stainless brake lines and threw on a new master cylinder. We made cosmetic repairs, added a Supra Wing to the back and were saving for new wheels and tires. We also put on a new clutch slave cylinder and we were off learning and teaching how to drive a manual transmission. My daughter just got her learners permit in November so now we were ready to practice on the open road instead of the neighborhood.
We just sold the car last weekend as she decided that although it was fun in the neighborhood with no traffic, it was absolutely horrifying to deal with when there were other cars all around.
We sold it with just 79k on it at 11 years old {very young miles} for $2200.00.
The guy was real pleased with the deal he got and we still have the scorpion hood and cd stereo to sell.
I loved the car but I need a truck for work and had no room to keep it so our project is now someone elses joy.
This web site has been great and very helpful in assisting us with all the things we worked on over the past year. I will still poke in here once and a while and will be putting the hood and radio up on here for sale before going to e bay.
Thank you all very much.
Regards,
Doug - Lee's Dad

I bought my 1998 RS in November 2004.
It had a genuine 33,600 Miles on the clock - barely run in!!.
It presently has 41000 miles on the speedo.
My verdict? Great car, fast (for a 1.6), stable at any speed, looks better than some 21st century cars, is very exclusive - looks like a Mini Batmobile!
It's exactly what I wanted, I love it to bits, and I would just die if anything terminal happened to it.
For £3075, it has to be the bargain of the century.
