Installed H&Rs.. hmm whats that noise?
so i spent the few hours to finally install the H&Rs i bought months ago.. and it gave the car a nice looking stance! but then i took it for a test drive, and the first turn i took i heard this like "skipping" of the tires or something. also heard a lotta popping and stuff. is this normal?? i've done mx3 suspension like 7 times and i've never come across this. *i havnt gotten an allignment yet* so could that fix it? please, if anyone has these springs or this problem, lemme know lol, thanks

Its the springs. The H&Rs are progressive and have tighter coils that colapse onto each other underload and then the larger coils take over. What you're hearing is known as *coil slap*, and you probably usually only hear it at slow speeds over small bumps. It's normal with the H&Rs.

Could it also be due to the old shocks/struts that you are using?
Usually if you change the springs you should do the shock/struts as well... so I've been told.

From all the articles i've read and ppl i've talked to, the springs make noise, it's not a constant noise and it's less when the springs are new and still have the powder coating on them. You can use some rubber tubing over the coils to stop the noise.
Assuming of course, the rest of the suspension is in good order, if not, then ya sure, it could be something else.

hmmm what can i say lol.. everythings tight, so that wouldnt be the problem, and it only seems to do it in the rear, and only on right hand turns. (wtf?) i'm getting it alligned monday, so if it still makes this noise after that, i'll have a shop check it out.
i could see the coil clattering (because they ARE progressive and the top ones are insanely close together)... but why would it make like tire-skipping kinds of noises?? like when i make a right turn, the rear goes ERT-ERT-ERT-ERT but it doesnt sound/feel like im losing traction.
LOL o well from now on im taking it to a shop

My H&R makes vibration
In my case is the passanger side front suspension that makes vibration, also have H&R and ONLY when i turn to the left i fell this skidding and vibration, steering vibrates too, so i replaced CV Joint, i lost the boot like a month ago, so it was time to replace anyway, but that hasnt fixed the problem either, like you Sam Baker, if alignment doesnt fix it i dont know what else it could be. Everythings tight, no brake lines no nothing........

ok so i got it all alligned and WHAT DO YOU KNOW!! guys there told me to check my rear sway bar bushings. couldnt really understand what they meant by it.. but i get down to look under there, and the right side end link is just hanging there! not even connected to the sway bar!! somehow i guess the nut.. um.. fell off?! i have no idea how this happened, but that was the problem.
but on a positive note.. H&Rs ROCK!!! OMG i love the feeling!! they handle/grip so well without really making it much harsher of a ride than stock! also the drop gives it a PERFECT looking stance! LOVE THESE SPRINGS!!!
