Mazda fich injection

Post by Ehpl »

I remember reading that mazda had payed to use the austrailian developed fich injection (wild head injection system, hi performance outboardmotors are now using) system from its patent owners. This was about 7 yrs ago , anyone ever hear anything about what developed with this.
I talked to a guy who knew about the test car in ausi , a converted soch 1.6 ford escort ,he said it had a problem breaking axels because of the insain power it had.

Search shows that it's called either Evinrude Ficht/ficht. It seems to be a type of direct injection.

Wouldn't be suprised that the rights were indeed bought up by Mazda and is now protected (coveted) from anyone else's use. Large corporations tend to do this and sometimes these new inventions/inovations get buried for undetermined periods of time. I would liken this to advanced fuels and propulsions that major corporations will buy the rights to in order to perpetuate their dated yet very profitable current applications.
