kl-de swap?

kl-de swap?

im doing a kl-de swaps and when i compare the de and the k8 the de seems to have more vacuum lines then the k8..is there supposed to be vacuum lines left?

If it does, then plug up the extra holes.

There shouldn't be any lines left. Check with this vacuum diagram.

my kl-de is done n ready to swap in...is there any problem dat i might run into that i should know about kuz ive been readin all these post on the swap n ppl say a whole bunch of different things n im gettin all confused n stuff...I juz wanna kno really wat kinda of problem i might run into when im doin the swap...Thanx

Remember to use the K8 exhaust manifolds.

Yes, or buy new headers instead and replace when you have the engine out of the engine bay. A lot easier.
I had to move the knock sensor connector from the driver's side to the passenger's side to make the connector on the K8 harness reach the connector. The connector is located under the front of the intake manifold.

so use the k8 headers n down pipe or juz the headers?

Yes. Use the K8 exhaust logs and down pipes. That way you keep the EGR system.

Manifolds, downpipes. Everything from the K8.

aite thanx guyz....but why keep my stock EGR?
and is there any thing else that i would run into..

Unless you're using a Japanese computer, you will get a Check Engine Light without the stock EGR. If you need to do emissions tests where you are at, most places you will automatically fail if you have a Check Engine Light showing.

what is the air intake tract n where is it connected too?can any1 help?

I agree!!! Very nice work. That's a keeper diagram. Maybe the mods could save this diagram somewhere cause it sure is the best one I've seen and even better than my shop manuals. :2thumbsup:
