Post by freakyalien »

While parked on hills my car will start to roll forward even with the E-Break engaged. How do I tighen it? I was told to take the centor console off and tighten a bolt or something...?

I have the page bookmarked, I told you I already looked at it.

Is it just that single screw thats holding the cover on?

If you have rear drums you can also adjust it there.

So I guess I'm confused as to how exactly E Brakes work...Do they use the regular brakes, or are they another set? Do they lock up all 4 wheels, or just the rear?

When you pull the ebrake, it applies the rear brakes.

can be tightened with a 10 mm deep socket strait down next to lever,if you move rubber over you can see it.

Wow, is that it? That seems really easy...So I don't even have to take the cover off?

Sorry for being as thick as a cement wall, but my brakes are not something I want to mess with without knowing what I'm doing.

if you dont know what to look for its best to get someone who knows to help.look to see how thick the lining is and condition of springs and hardware.they are escort brakes and hardware so its a cheap set up.i get new rears shoes for 21 dollars.dont strip the phillips screws holding drum on and do oil the holes and screws and put them back when your done.an impact driver is the best way to get the screws out of drum.there is a threaded hole in drum to screw a bolt in and it pushes the drum off, dont beat with hammer, use hole and bolt.if good luck
