FAQ: Clearing Foggy Headlights.

Post by mx3freakit »

The BLUE MAGIC plastid and plexyglass cleaner works great. You can get at your local auto parts store. It is only $3.00 and is easy to put on. All you do is wax on and wax off and looks like new. To see pic of cleaner look on the Qubec MX-3 Club{Qubec,OC} Bulletin Board under Headlights.

Any kind of polish will do the job. I used AUTOSOL metal polish (which is also good for plastic and alot of other things) and the result is great. I took pictures of it and it will be probably scanned next week. I'll post my personal result under the "Headlights" post in Québec MX-3 forum :)

True. I've read it and looked at X places for this "$/?% blue magic but I think it is not available here in Canada. There is alot of other product that will do the job.
I think the 2nd point of your HOWTO can be improved -|- "Do this A LOT. The more you polish, the clearer the headlights will become (to an extent). I took mine off and polished it while I was watching a movie for a few nights" -|- I don't know if the product isn't strong enough but by my personal experience it only tooks me 5 minutes MAX per light.

Your mis understanding. yes you can get it clear in 5 mins and see improvement. But, the more you polish the better it will look.

"I used KIT brand Polish in a bottle that is for plexi, plastic, and paint. THis stuff works great and it does it FAST. Also it goes for less than $2 USD and is both really easy to work with and available at walmart and most places." -Richard Hobson

Also try Turtle Wax Polishing compound. Seemed to work for me as well.
