I was wondering if anyone could guestimate about how long this install takes?

time

Post by Rumnhammer »

I'd say it all depends on how long it takes to remove the console and perhaps the exhaust if it interferes with the process.
a good estimate would be under 2 hours start to finish, considering the car has to be put up on front jack stands and the console removed and put back, the actual install of the bracket itself probably less then a half hour.

I installed this a couple weeks ago and it only took me about an hour. If I did it again, it would take half that time, but initially I had to find a shorter screw (than the one that came with the bracket) and I took my time.

Btw, I was able to use a 3/4" screw by slightly bending the bracket open. I did try a longer screw by pushing it down from inside the car, but I found it difficult to get the washer and nut on between the small opening in the bracket. Plus I was by myself and even with the car on a jack, I didn't have much elbow room. It would have been much easier with the car on a lift.

Either way will work just fine. Just depends on your preference.

EDIT: The hour it took me didn't really include jacking the car up and positioning the jack stands, etc.
