brake performance

Post by mitmaks »

ok ive changed brake pads while back and had rotors turned. I did break in period for brake pads. Now when i brake I get like this hiss from brakes. Brakiing feels good but when I need to stop I press brake pedal and it feels like brakes engage but car still rolls and I have to press pedal harder to make the car stop. Ive bled lines after change, also bled my clutch at the same time. Im not sure whats the problem.

Im having the same problem, Im not sure what to do, I have cross-drilled slotted brembo rotors, and I need to buy some ceramic pads for my car, but I think im going to buy some stainless steel brake lines also, they don't swell like the rubber ones do...Anyone who knows the answer to this problem, get back to US!

well i am brake guy somewhat and how to stop your brakes from squeaking of the brakes? Or is it more of grinding? well if you are squeaking its probably the pads. When i do my pads i purchase the best i can buy (witch still suck...) but there is this anti squeak crap you can buy its like a little orange bottle. you put it on the back of the pad with the caliper hits the pad. DO NOT GET IT ON THE PAD ITSELF IF YOU CAN. If you do just wipe it off. This stuff stops alot of the squeaking of the pads. And the pins that are on the caliper that holds the pads on make sure you dont put them in back words.... or you will get a nice grinding noise.... happed to me so i had to fix it quick when i was at auto cross. No damage tho if you get it fixed right away.

Sounds like air in the line. I have known people that have bled their brakes like 3 times and still cant get rid of a small air bubble in them.

try a bleed again and check to make sure the pads are sitting the way they should be and are making correct contact with the rotor.
Maybe the rotor needs to be replaced ?
