The 1.6 DOHC has VICS...and according to the FSM it comes on at 4750RPM.
I got the festiva running w/this engine and it seems fine, but can't tell any diff in power when it passes by that mark. the OBD isn't showing any codes so I'm assuming its working properly.
I know on my Protege you can feel it kick on with the BP, so what about the B6?
Can you feel VICS kick in?

I do feel the power kick in between 4-5000 rpms, most likely the vics.

I heard our cars have the VICS, but I don't feel the power at that rpm. I found a description of the VICS system on page F1-109 on the online repair manual, but something troubles me when looking at that page. It shows much higher torque in the lower-mid rpm with the VICS closed. Hence, wouldn't it be better for our cars if this valve was always closed? It looks like all the VICS does is create turbulence in our intake manifolds anyway. Can someone explain to me how this is ever a good thing based on the description on F1-109 in the online manual?
It might be slow, but it's not a civic!

yah its not very noticable, you have to be really watching for it, most of the time it just passes by and youy dont even know it. lol
when my car was an ATX you couldent feel it you could hear it, espically when i got an intake and exhaust. when i went to an MTX you could feel it a little, but its definatly no V-Tec. now with the turbo on there you definatly feel it. its kind of a crazy pull. but i cant wait to get rid of it.
