Suspension Mounts

Post by UKMX-3 »

Okay, my top suspension bushes seem to have gone, the ride is very bumpy and im pretty sure that on the bumpy roads here my suspension is taking a hammering.

Symptons are

Knocking noise coming from the top of the suspension towers at the front.

Very Bumpy Ride

Solution

New bushes/Mounts.

Can anyone give me information on where to get these...someone mentioned SRD does them, but on checking the site i could see them anywhere.....

does anyone recommend a particular supplier, or should i just stick with the OEM stuff?

I think OEM is the only supplier of the upper ones. However, I suggest replaceing the bushings b/c I have never seen a "bushes" on a MX-3. hehe

Hmmm, im pretty gutted that there arent any uprated polyeurethane "Bushings", im betting the OEM Mazda ones are pretty poor.

Can anyone think of anything else i should replace while im in there?

Or more to the point while my mechanic is in there

Have you checked Mazdaspeed Motorsports?

I know they make them for the BG Protege. 40% stiffer than stock. Fronts would fit, unsure about the rears if none are available for the MX3.

For what? The mount at the top of the strut that bolts to the frame at the shock tower with 4 bolts? Monroe makes a replacement mount.

Tirerack.com sells the replacement strut mounts. That's where I got mine.
