KL28 Ecu

Post by V8KOMX3 »

I wrote to the guy selling the KL28 ECU this is what I said to him
The KL28 is an ECU for the Australian/New Zealand
> 165HP engines how is this a jdm klze ecu when the
> above I stated is where the ecu comes from? The only
> KLZE ecu's are the kl31 and kl36. PLease let me know
> where you got this info incase I am wronge somehow

and this is what he wrote back to me does anyone have comments on his info as I wronge or does he just not know what he is talking about?

Your info is wrong. The KL28 does come out in NZ. I
have removed it from our spec cars. I have also
removed this ECU from the JDM manual MX6 and a 626
Manual. I did not get them confused as I still have
the Japanes Kanji sun visors for one of them.
I have never removed a KL31 or 36 from a manual car so
there is alot of misinformation. These cars are
getting old here and falling of the road so I get all
my ECUs from the cars not imported with engines alone
so I am basing my Info of the vehicals I have removed
them from. The NZ spec 2.5 V6 Ford Telstars TXi s seem
to go faster than the JDM spec cars a freind has one
and it really moves. They are definately the large
square port engine. The Aus spec may be detuned I dont
know.
Hope this helps
Dan.

yea im going to stick my oar in the water

if this is a guy in wellington selling stuff on
EBAY STAY CLEAR!!

Ok a kl28 ecu does exist but its not for a KLZE motor
its found in the 2.0litre V6's Auto's and was as far as i
can see from the number of car's ive seen in the wreakers
was a domestic ecu for New Zealand and Austrailia

go and goggle his "NZ spec 2.5 V6 Ford Telstars TXi "
does'nt exsist, as the 2.5 V6's where only produced in
mondeo

the 2.0 where in the telstar's

Put bluntly your looking for a bargain, steer clear
buy only a kl36 or a kl31 and if he say's otherwise
he's full of shite! i rest my left testitcal.

FWIW, from mmac on the UK BB - the E-Spec K8's run a KL820 ECU. Lots of ECU variants out there.

Thats weird why they would call an ecu for a kf motor kl28. You would think it would be kfXX. You sure a kl28 is not for a kl engine?

yeh, i use the kl28. i got an imported jap DE motor (they have lower kms), but no ecu so i had to use the kl28. It has the lower rev limiter (about 6000rpm.)
now, about what the guy said in the message.
have also
removed this ECU from the JDM manual MX6 and a 626
Manual. I did not get them confused as I still have
the Japanes Kanji sun visors for one of them.
I have never removed a KL31 or 36 from a manual car so
there is alot of misinformation.
he is right in one way because there are in fact japanese KL-DE engines. So he could have got a jap KL engine/front cut and removed the ecu and got a kl28.
hope this helps
