KLZE Turbo Plans ++ TOTAL INTERNAL BUILD

Post by mx32nerDOTcom »

Im going all out, I wanna do a turbo ZE, I bought the block already, and it's tore down, I just want opinions/knowledge, on what throttle body to use, what Intake Manifold to use, where I can get a forged crank at, upgraded axles capable of around 350WHP, what injectors to use, and possibly what tranny would work best for this setup...

Block:
KLZE Block staying with 2.5 Bore
Mustang 347 Stroker Rods (Capable of 550HP)
ARP Rod Bolts
Custom BRCPistons with 8.7:1 compression
Setup for full floating

Turbo:
T3/T4 Hybrid Turbo (Not totally sure yet exactly which type)
Large Intercooler w/2.75" Piping (Bar and Fin)

I just need a little help that's all, thanks for everything in advance..
If you need to know anything else about my setup, just ask me,

AOL: mx32nerDOTcom

PS: Selling the stock internals from the KLZE, rods & pistons together, just shoot a price out at me...
THanks

350 WHP huh? My best advice would be to check out BabyBlueMx3's ride. I believe he's already achieved 350whp. Bulletproof daily driver, its an awesome car and an amazing build!

sounds pretty much what I did. the main concern you will have to deal with are 2 things..fuel supply and tranny.
oh and dump that tube and fin intercooler..that's for sissies (sp?) :) you need a bar and plate intercooler. tube and fin are for radiators. catch me on aol or msn so we can chat a bit

oh and I hope you got money :) I promise you you're going to bust your budget . . .if you have one

I'm just curious but someone on here quoted me a price on a KLZE rebuild to handle over 300hp. They said it would cost me $10000 (US)
bulls---?

Btw, why not go for a cheap KLDE and build that up?

Upgraded axles can be found at http://www.driveshaftshop.com/
upgraded injectors from a nissan sr engine
and dont forget the stand alone youll need to tune it all with
manifold you can get from http://www.cyborgzero.com/ or http://www.precisionracingonline.com/ also makes a sweet a-- manifold
but they are relocating atht emoment
You can bore your ZE TB to 67mm or 70mm
Also the ze manifold will suport turbo applications but you should have
it acid bathed and port matched to clean it up
Tranny you would want to just custom rebuild the mx3s
the mx3 tranny is decent but for that much hp you need to
upgrade it at a tranny shop.
Also you will want a stg3 clutch and a light aluminum flywheel.
As for standalone, some ppl us megasquirt, haltech, motec, wolf3d, sds.
you will also want new gaskets, fuel lines, fuel pump, adj fuel pressure reg
you will need better aftermarket valves, valve springs, retainers
you will need new aftermarket bearings as well.

there are other things but my eyes are half closed...
1994, GS, KLZE, 67mm TB, LightFlywheel, Centreforce Stg 3 Clutch, CAI, KL36 ecu, B&M shortshifter, Solid poly mounts, lightweight Aluminum Cross memeber, 2.5 high flo cat, 2.5 all back, Tanabe Exhaust, optima battery, ZX2 HD tokicos, eibach prokit, black altezzas.....

you should have gotten .020" or .040" pistons, and gotten an engineshop to bore it out to fit those pistons. Don`t cost a lot, and you suddenly get a "new" engine.

Just think about the positive sides of getting new walls in the cylinders. You are guaranteed that the pistons and pistonrings wil fit as they should.

Also, you get a small increase in volume, and thats not bad either.

If you are as serious as you seem, there`s really not much to think about :)

I believe I would seriously consider it as long as the cylinder walls didn't end up paper thin and lose any sort of reliability.

boring 0.020 or 0.040 il almost nothin. I am not worried about the strength of the cylinder. but boring .20 that's another story !
