MX-6 Clutch on a BPT/Protege DOHC tranny/flywheel

Post by FroSTeD »

Hi,

My Centerforce Dual Friction is not strong enough for my car and I need to change my clutch ASAP.

I know Marlon is using an MX-6 Clutch kit from ACT, but he told me to use the pilot bearing and the throw out bearing from the Protege.

But when I look on ACT website, the MX-6 bearings has the SAME part numbers than the Protege bearings.

So, I am wondering if I can order an MX-6 clutch kit and use those bearings or if I really need to look out for the protege bearings?

Anyone know that? :?:

If you check out the differences between the 2 kits, it is only the Pressure plate and the alignement tool.

mx6 clutch kit : Z62-HDSS Clutch Kit
Kit Components
Pressure Plate: MZ-015 - Heavy Duty Pressure Plate
Disc: MZSD056S - Performance Street Disc
Release Bearing: RB091
Pilot Bearing: PB1005
Alignment Tool: AT05

Protege clutch kit : ZP2-HDSS Clutch Kit
Kit Components
Pressure Plate: MZ-020 - Heavy Duty Pressure Plate
Disc: MZSD056S - Performance Street Disc
Release Bearing: RB091
Pilot Bearing: PB1005
Alignment Tool: AT20

Anyone can tell me if I get the MX-6 clutch kit, if I can keep the bearings comming with the kit? (They have the same part number!) Any infos would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
