My cat is 2.5 in and 2.5 out, The catback is 2.25".
I believe there will be no performance loss or gain using the 2.5" cat VS. the 2.25" on either the K8 or the ZE. The only difference between the two is the inlet and outlet sizes. Both use the the same exact body and core. I doubt the 3" of piping on either side of the cat has much effect on the power.
I've also always thought that a 2.25" exhaust is plenty large enough for the ZE.

So, OBD1 or OBD2 on a '93 MX-3? My car has no CEL, so I guess it's OBD1 then, right?

I don't believe ANY European MX-3s are OBDII, regardless of year. And the CEL is no indication, either. I think the CEL was not fitted to Euro models.Originally posted by Macen:

The only place that got OBDII MX-3's, to my knowledge, is Canada.
However, the ECU connectors in Europe changed from 3 to 4 in January 1996.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!

Macen, I believe that Tatsu did a very indepth post on Magnaflow systems including numerous part numbers. Try a search on his posts to about 2 or 3 weeks ago approx. I think you'll find everything you need in there and more.Macen wrote:Is Magnaflow 94006 the right one to get if I want 2.5? I have found some other on their page, and they have air tubes (94016) and some others have O2 sensors.
Oh, and how much does this catalytic converter weight do you think? Under 11 pounds?

So I have a Monza exhaust system being shipped to me right now. Pacesetter lists the tubing diamter at 2.25. So I should get a cat that has 2.25 out? What about going in? Does it really matter? I mean, if I got a 2.5/2.5 cat, when it gets installed they could just put an adapter to gap the size differences, right?
