brake booster, hose going to the booster, check valve inside the hose for the booster, all could be your prob. i'd say start w/ the hoses

yea i'd guess the check valve in the hose going to your brake booster...you're brake light isn't on is it? to check if it is the check valve:
take off the hose
you should be able to blow air through the hose if you are blowing into the side that hooks up to the booster
you should NOT be able to blow air through the side that connects to the intake manifold.

Try just turning the hose from the brake booster to the intake manifold around!! The check valve is probably facing the wrong way!!! If you have no problems with stalling you could change the hose so there is no check valve at all!!!

it says on the hose which way it should go...
looks like this:
ENGINE ------->

arrow toward engine obviously :wink:

and if you didn't flip the hose around yourself it shouldn't be on backwards since the brakes worked before.

no it doesn't happen a lot. this is the first post i've seen about it.

and if you do change the hose...please make sure that there IS a check valve. if your car stalls for some reason and you don't have one you will have almost no braking power.
