question about MX-3 motor

Post by riotallnight »

I recently wrecked my 92 mazda mx-3. the front is really messed up, i believe the frame is warped. So I'm thinking about taking the motor and dropping it into another mx-3. I was wondering though, are there any other cars i could drop the motor in, or does it have to be another mx-3? sorry i'm clueless when it comes to cars.

Do you have a rs (4 cyl) or gs (6 cyl).. Really there is no advantage of having a mx3 motor in anything else. The mx3 dosent exactily have alot of power compared to other cars. All you need to do is get another mx-3.. theres no gain from swapping in a stock motor.. If youre gonna be doin swapping put in a bp engine or a klze :)
93 MX3, BP, Haltech E6X, Bully Six Puck Clutch, Pauter Rods, Wiseco Pistons, Port and Polish, Turbonetics T3/T4 Ball Bearing turbo and a partridge in a pear tree.

Well if you got the 4 banger throw it in a Festiva and it will bad a--, just ask Gro Harlem, I think he's had the 1.6 in one of his Festiva's. But for the most part, Franko's right, stock mx-3 motors suk.

I think all MX-3's have a unibody, not a frame...
I have a clean '92 RS body that I'm selling if you have a way to get it home. I blew the head gasket about a year ago and I'll be stripping it down in a few weeks. PM me if you're interested and I might be able to find someone to help you with shipping.
