o2 sensor wires

Post by ovendenk »

alright guys, i don't know if anyone remembers how crappy tire fuked up my o2 sensors, but i've just got a quick question before i let them touch it again. do the colors of the wires change from year to year? i bought the service manual when i had my original 92 mx and now i've got a 93, but the manuals are for the 92 still. anyways, could someone please verify my wire colors? also, three weeks of driving with these wired wrong couldn't have messed up my o2 sensors, could it? :?

RH o2
white - signal

LH o2
red/blue - signal

common
black/brown - ground
black - heater
white/red - heater

thanks a lot guys.

I'm thinking you're talking the colors of the wires on the ECU side of the harness. The parts that you want to actually splice to are the wires on the sensor side of the harness. I'm assuming you're splicing new universal O2 sensors on?

If so, there should be 4 wires. The signal wire will be blue. There'll be two wires the same exact color. Those will be grounds, and it doesn't matter which way you hook those up as long as they're both to ground outputs on the old wiring. The 4th wire standing is the heater wire. But the signal wire should be blue on both the front and rear wiring.

Wait. Are there two heater sensors or two grounds? Eh whatever. It's been a while and I don't have the directions in front of me. But the signal wire is definitely blue. I know there'll be two wires the same color that it doesn't matter which way you hook up, and there'll be a 4th wire standing that it'll be logical to figure out.

I am looking for the 92 manual and no where seems to have it. Where did you get it from. Bytheway, same issue here using up lots of gas. Not very mechanical but if you come with a solution, I'll try anything.
