just got back from japan... not one mx-3/az-3
hey guys,
i just got back from japan a couple nights ago. i thought for sure i'd see at least one az-3, but no. there are almost no cars on the road older than like maybe a 97. the only older cars you saw were more performance cars. i saw a few old school american muscle cars, 4 or 5 nsx's, some skylines, etc.
i went to the mazda factory/museum in hiroshima and it was awsome. i got to see the az-1, but there was no mention of the mx-3 or mx-6 . they had a whole floor of the museum devoted to the rx-8. there was even a breakdown section where they had EVERY SINGLE part used in the construction of the car out on display along with a full scale clay model. they had the lemans car sitting out on display in the room of rotary engines (every rotary every produced by mazda). the assembly line was closed because of a fire that caused a lot of damage and even some lives from what i was told. so they'll be out of comission for a couple months they think before they're fully back up and running. i took like 120 pictures and a few video clips that day .
i also went to this toyota place where i got to test drive an mr2 spyder and sit in a real f1 car. really neat place, but basically a giant showroom for all their new models and the technology that toyota has developed over the years.
amazing trip over all with at least 175 pictures of cars alone. oh yeah and the bullet trains are ridiculous (300 kph )

Bastard!! I've always wanted to goto Japan not just because of the cars and all the cool places. When you get a chance you should send some of those pictures our way! Did you take any other pictures besides cars like landscapes/buildings etc?
Ever notice anyone driving slower than you is an idiot and anyone driving faster than you is a maniac?

no, no... i went half way around the world and all i did was stare at cars. i was with my family visiting my sis who's been over there teaching english. they're all english and arts majors, so it was hard enough to get two days out of the 8 or 9 days we were there for me to get to mazda and toyota. i saw a whole bunch of castles, temples, shrines, etc.
i took like 250 pics during the trip on my camera. my site is in bad need of an update, but this weekend for sure i'll post the pics on there. i'll let you guys know.
