For the past few month's now, my turn signals have been on the brink. Every so often, either the left or right or BOTH have stopped working completely. I have checked the fuse box and changed the exterior bulbs with no success. Does anyone else have this problem or know of a solution? After months of cutting people off and being sworn at, I finally realized that I need help and it would be greatly appreciated!

Turn Signal Does NOT work!

Being either left AND / OR right, you'd have to suspect the relay. Maybe you should check the connections to it for a start (its under the drivers side dash).
What about your hazard lights - do they stop working too? Next time your indicators stop working, try turning these on and see if anything happens.

Theres some relays under the drivers side dash. The indicator / hazard relay is sorta above the accelerator / brake pedal, its grey with a blue plug on the bottom (if yours is the same as mine).
Wire colours going to it should be:
GRN / BLK
GRN / WHT
YEL
GRN
BLK
GRN / YEL
BLK / RED
Check all the connections of the wires running to it. If no luck after that, try to get one from a junkyard. If you can get one exactly the same it will be a lot easier to swap.

Grants, Atlanta: Thanks for the help. Both the diagrams and the wiring helped me find it.
It's -6 Celcius here in Toronto but I braved it and checked it. Also, it's kinda of a b---- to get too.
I found the relay. I never knew it moved when activated, anyways, I checked the wiring and the connnections and they seem fine.
I'm going to try a little bit of electrical connection cleaner but I'm going to try to swap for a new relay from my parts car. I'll try swapping it tonight and I'll keep you updated on the situation.
If by any chance this does not turn out to be the problem, should I check anything else while I'm upside down?

If you got a parts car even better.
Swap the relay first, its the most likely thing. About the only other thing it can be is a bad connection somewhere. Good luck with it. Don't know how anything could work at -6 anyway, I sure couldn't!

-6, tha'ts not that bad. At that temperature, I don't need a jacket to get around every day.
Actually, after I got the part from the parts car, I rushed to put it in 15 mins ago (1:10am) and it was -15. Still not that cold though.
The good news is that is worked. I tried the signals and they work great. The hazards now work like a charm, just in case I ever need them.
Just out of curiosity, I opened up the defective flasher relay and it looks brand new inside.
I should have posted this months' ago.
Thanks again to both of you.
I can now drive safe again
