Will the SOHC MT work w/ DOHC motor?

Post by Kenzie »

Hey,
I have a '92 SOHC with a manual tranny that I'm parting to a friend who has a '95 DOHC with an auto tranny. He's wanting to do a auto/manual swap and we're wondering what all he can use from my car?
Will the tranny work with the DOHC engine?
If not then can he still use all the other goodies from my SOHC?

Thanks!

i have a 93 SOHC and i'm using the tranny off of a 95 DOHC, so yes it should be no problem. He will have to use his speedo gear (i'm not sure if the Automatic and Manual have the same one though, but they should). That was the only difference i remembered, because the 94 + uses the electric speedometer, and the tranny off of our SOHC uses the Mechanical one.
