Imports sometimes have climate control (as opposed to primitive old aircon) but you may have problems if it goes wrong. Very few have ABS.

Leather was fitted to Special Editions (SE); they are some '95 models. With cars of this age, condition and mileage (if you can believe it) is more important than year. I tried leather in a car I tried out, but it was too hot and uncomfortable for me.

They mostly have cassette players, but you may find the odd one with CD. It's easy to change, anyway.

Aircon was an option in UK models until (I think)'95 or '96, when it became standard. Not many were bought with the aircon option. Don't be fooled - a lot of cars were fitted with an alarm by dealers, and they put the red LED in the aircon switch blank in the middle of the dash. Some dealers will point to that, and tell you it's aircon. If the switch doesn't go in and out, it isn't.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

Check the bonnet for motor way chips. Check the arches on both front and rear. Check the roof for paint quality. If you see a few funny patches its likley they had birds pooing all over the car and didnt clean it off quick enough. Showing how much the car was looked after. Overall the body work on these isnt that bad, these are things you should check on all cars.
