good news and bad news...

Post by 93SOHC »

Went to the junkyard today and got me some new mudgaurds for the front for only 10 bucks and theyre even the right color! Now the bad news: The gs wing I bought off MX3Chick was also installed today as a test fit. The problem is that there is to chunks broken off it where it goes along the mini window (i'll post pics tomarrow) I did not notice this earlier as I just took it out of the box and put it in my basement. I am pretty sure she was unaware of this when she sold it to me, but none the less it looks totally whack! (besides being red on my teal mx). I was thinking of maybe fiberglassing it up, but i'm not sure it its worth the work. I only payed 50 shipped for it, but still thats 50 bucks wasted plus whatever I have to pay for a new one. What shall I do, is my ? to all of you!

easily repairable.
Nothing a little fiberglass cant fix.
You could use some fiberglass then trim w/ a dremel, sand, them prime and paint.

Fiberglass isnt hard to work with, just takes a while to cure and sand it all out.

JBL weld makes a puddy that fills in the little dips thats easily sandable.
I used it when molding my touchscreen for my carPC in my GS console.
Turned out perfect.

I guess you didn't notice what I wrote under the pic's. Ofcorse the wing will be painted! This was when I test fitted it a week ago. I have to get this all done soon cause I can't put my garnish back on (its toast)

Barry, I work at a plastic thermo forming plant and I got a small piece I should be able to attach, then fiberglass, should be fairly simple. I can't see lettin it go to waste. On a side note:anyone got a closeup pic of how its supposed to look so I can get it shaped right? Plz post a pic

Lot's of pics on members rides to go for. Try a search for "Predidian's" ride. It looks to be a good close-up.
